This week we celebrated Book Week at OPS. It’s always an amazing day – everyone puts in so much effort into their costumes and we all have a really fun time.
Well done to Mrs Mills for organising and Mr Dutlow for MCing!
Here’s a photo of 3AM in their cool costumes. See if you can tell who we’re supposed to be 🙂
This term we are learning about minibeasts. We had Wild Action Zoo come out and show us some very cool beasts. We learned lots and even got to hold some!
Last week we went on a hunt for minibeasts with 3HR. We had a fantastic time looking for creatures with our magnifying glasses and using our detective notebooks to sketch anything we found.
Becoming Lord Voldemath – A Math Wizard Game
What five letter word becomes shorter when you add two letters to it??
Last week we learned about magnets. We learned that magnets have a north and south pole, that north and south are attracted to each other. We also discovered that when you try to put the same pole together, the magnets repel each other.
We explored what magnets are attracted to around our classroom and then played a fun game where we passed metallic objects between us just using magnets!
The most fun thing we did was paint with magnets. We used shoeboxes, paper, paper clips and magnets. Can you guess how we painted with those things?
Well done Alyssa, Aria and Anna for competing in district cross country – against Grade 4s to make it even trickier! Alyssa came in top 20, Aria in the top 30 and Anna in the top 40. Outstanding!
